Hoedspruit Hub Bus Precinct

The Hoedspruit Hub is an agricultural training centre, currently in its start-up phase. An exciting addition to the hub space environment is an old bus "shell" that was gifted to the Hoedspruit Hub. See Saw Do was approached and briefed to reimagine this "bus shell" as a multi-use training, welcome and relaxation area that should become a source of inspiration and a brand touch point for introducing visitors to the work of The Hoedspruit Hub.

With the Hoedspruit Hub being located in Limpopo, we decided that an effective approach would be to visit the hub for an intensive 3-day sprint of co-design workshops with the Hub team, rapid prototyping and site documentation. We built a good understanding of the context and shaped a vision for the environment. By meeting with the local community in and around the Hub and including them in the process, we built a network of implementers who could implement the project once we left. The design challenge for See Saw Do, was to produce a design template that could be built using predominantly simple DIY techniques, with local resources by the surrounding community. With a limited budget, we designed a vision document for the Hub, which could be taken to funders and built in phases.

The design phase of the project is now complete and phase one building (funded by ClemenGold) has begun. We can't wait to see The Hoedspruit Hub get hands-on and build their own Hub Space!
